#30: Minda Harts

Dear Geenies -

Clearly, You Got The Memo! I am so honored to share with you some of the items that help me keep an “Empire State of Mind” when work tends to be a bit much. Additionally, I’ve included some affirmations, to remind you to keep securing your seat -- at the tables, you build or occupy! I am a firm believer in women supporting women and that success is not a solo sport. When you win, I win!

As we move into this next decade, I hope you will be your biggest advocate, ask for what you want, and know that you’ve worked too hard to lean out now. I hope you use the items in this month’s GeenieBox to help you stay motivated, inspired, and accountable in 2020:

  • The Memo: What Women of Color Need to Know to Secure a Seat at the Table
  • 25th and June Nail Elixir in “Chasing the Sunset”
  • Cee Cee’s Closet NYC - Shortie Headwrap
  • Effie’s Paper  - Black Girl Magic Notebook
  • Vision Words Sticky Notes - “Success” Pack

I worked in corporate and not-for-profit spaces for 15 years, and in 2015 I decided that my voice was needed to help advocate for black women and women of color in the workplace. I wrote my debut book The Memo: What Women of Color Need To Know To Secure A Seat At The Table, with you in mind. It’s time we have a career book that centers our stories. I am an entrepreneur, professor, and hopefully, now part of your new cheering squad!

I hope you enjoy this curation that I put together from my hart! And in the words of Audre Lorde, may we all “be deliberate and afraid of nothing.” Keep securing your seat!  Please let me know what you think and share your experience with me on social @Mindaharts.

Let’s secure Our seats together.

With gratitude,

Minda Harts
