Daria Burke is a recognized beauty and marketing expert. Burke is the Founder & CEO of Trest, the first mobile app that allows women with textured hair to find salons they can trust based on the recommendations of friends in their social networks. Recently featured in Women’s Wear Daily, Trest launches in New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles and San Francisco this month. Daria also leads strategy for the $5BN beauty and personal care businesses across CVS’ nearly 8,000 retail locations, providing thought leadership on the conception, design and implementation of omni-channel growth initiatives.

Burke has also lent her expertise a marketing and business strategy consultant for beauty, fashion, retail and ecommerce companies. During this time, she helped create hair care line, UNWASH, and developed the branding and marketing campaign concept for a 2015 Nordstrom exclusive designer capsule collection featuring Tory Burch, Diane von Furstenberg, Alice & Olivia and The Honest Company.

Burke served as the Director of Makeup Marketing for the Estée Lauder brand where she led strategy, market plan development and new product launches for the $300MM makeup category in North America. She was one of the 10 founding team members of Rent the Runway, an online fashion start-up, and also has worked in brand management at L’Oreal USA on the Lancôme and Yves Saint Laurent Beaute brands.

Her passion for advancing women inspired her to create Black MBA Women, a growing network of 900 black women from top-tier business schools. Black MBA Women has earned features in Black Enterprise, LUCKY Magazine and the Philadelphia tribune, and is an official Platform Partner of Lean In. As a contributing writer for Huffington Post, Black Enterprise and Levo League, Daria provides thought-provoking commentary on women at work. In March 2014, Daria made her debut appearance on the Melissa Harris-Perry Show on MSNBC to discuss the importance of word choice as girls are socialized and the development women as business leaders.

 Burke is frequently invited to speak on career development and leadership, entrepreneurship, marketing and innovation/trends in the beauty and fashion industries. She speaks regularly at Harvard, Columbia, Brown, and New York Universities. Burke earned her MBA from the Stern School of Business at New York University and a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from the University of Michigan.
